About the holding of APEC Preliminary Press Tour
Fukui Prefecture conducted a press tour aiming at press persons from APEC economy members so that they could have more interest in Fukui before the APEC Energy Ministerial Meeting.
During the tour, they visited Fukui Prefecture Wakasa wan Energy Research Center, high-speed reactor "Monju", Dinosaur Museum and Ichijo-dani Asakura Clan Ruins, and exchanged opinions with Governor Nishikawa.
While exchanging opinions, Governor answered questions from the press persons from Vietnam and China, saying "Fukui prefecture has 15 nuclear power plants, which supply about a half of electricity in the Kansai region and contribute to Japan's energy policy. Fukui will continue to conduct the contribution, collaboration with local industries, safety instruction to Asia and building human resources."
