“APEC Junior Forum”
“APEC Junior Forum” will be held as a preliminary event for “2010 Japan APEC Energy Ministerial Meeting”, which is to be held in Fukui on the 19th and 20th in June this year.
This forum is supposed to promote understanding of APEC and to ferment welcoming atmosphere through international education by Fukui junior high schoolers’ preliminary learning of APEC and their exchange activities with foreigners from the economy member of APEC.
From now on, each of participant schools will go on “preliminary learning” about the economy members they are in charge of, as well as about energy, with an aim for getting deeper understanding, and on the 18th March, the forum day, they will make presentations about the results of their learning and summarize opinions for the Energy Ministerial Meeting.

Learning period
From January to March, 5 to 7 classes in total
Student aimed at
1st and 2nd graders in junior high schools
*Learners unit differs depending on schools (e.g. all of one grade or just a class)
*On the forum day, a representative class of each school will take part in.
Learning Contents
*The outlines of APEC and Energy Ministerial Meeting, environmental and energy-related problems the World and Japan face, politics, economy, history, culture, and energy-related circumstances of the economy members they are in charge of, and activities for energy saving are learned in order to deepen their understanding of APEC.
*Foreigners from APEC economy members will visit participant schools as a lecturer, and give lectures about the situations of their nation or region in an “international exchange course”.
