“Maestro Mizuno Kuuemon and Echizen Pottery Exhibition in Fukui Minami Aoyama 291” will be Held
“Fukui Minami Aoyama 291”, a Fukui Prefecture antenna shop located in Minami Aoyama, Tokyo, and Fukui Prefectural Pottery Museum will hold “Maestro Mizuno Kuuemon and Echizen Pottery Exhibition in Fukui Minami Aoyama 291” at the multipurpose hall on the 2nd floor of Fukui Minami Aoyama 291, from February 22nd (Mon) to 28th (Sun).
And we would like to ask a favor of coverage when we hold an explanation meeting on the exhibition for the press on the first day, February 22nd (Mon), starting at 13:00 pm.

11:00 am to 19:00 pm
*the first day starts at 13:00 pm. The last day closes at 17:00pm.
Place: the multipurpose hall on the 2nd floor of Fukui Minami Aoyama 291
2. Objective
Fukui Pottery Museum introduced designated manager system on April 2009, and has been actively promoting the museum and Echizen pottery since then. This exhibition is held with an aim to have people outside Fukui know more about the attraction of Echizen pottery, which is the first event of considerable works displayed outside Fukui.
3. Content
Among the priceless collection excavated and gathered by late Maestro Mizuno Kuuemon, an Echizen pottery researcher, 11 of ko-echizen (older-type pottery) are displayed. Also, his photographs and favorite goods will be displayed as well.

*They will give an explanation about the objective of the exhibition, the displayed works, and Maestro Mizuno’s achievement to the press.
5. Cooperative event: “Contemporary Echizen Pottery 2009 – 2010 / Presentation of a New Collection and Sale”
This is a presentation and sale of 8 contemporary Echizen pottery artists, who are active successors of traditional Echizen pottery. Please touch and feel their vivid works with your hands, in which they inspire a sense of new era. Click the supplementary sheet below for the participating artists.
