A Small-sized Material Display by Archives: “Did Ryoma meet Syungoku? – From “Sobamuki Todori Nikki (dairy)

Sakamoto Ryoma had several chances to meet Matsudaira Yoshinaga (Syungoku) during the period from 1862 (the 2nd year of the Bunkyu era) to 1967 (the 3rd year of the Keio era) when he visited Fukui just before his assassination. From an on-duty diary recorded by Sungoku’s aide, “Sobamuki Todori”, it can be clearly understood that how the two figures met on two occasions of these four meetings.
From the diary, we introduce articles related to Ryoma.
