About the Display of the Moving Dino Robot, “Fukuiraptor Kitadaniensis”
In preparation for the 10 anniversary, Dinosaur Museum has been conducting the improvement of facilities with an aim to increase the appeal.
We would like to announce that this time, as part of the activities, we will lay open the display of the moving dinosaur robot, “Fukuiraptor kitadaniensis” as follows.
1. What is “Fukuiraptor kitadaniensis”?
Fukuiraptor kitadaniensis is a carnivorous dinosaur, the fossils of whose hands and legs were discovered by the excavation research in Kitadani cho Katsuyama City, named the scientific name in 2002. The tip of the hand is a sharp talon, which identifies the dinosaur as carnosaurus, Theropoda. This is the first full-scale skeleton model of a carnivorous dinosaur in Japan.
2. Specification
(1) Size: 426 cm long, 101cm wide, 197cm high
(2) Weight: about 400 kg
(3) Movable points and program time:
*It can move 13 points by compressed air: eyelids, eyeballs, mouth, head (up and down, right and left, twisting), neck, armpits, elbows, wrists, trunk of the body (up and down, right and left), and tail.
*The movement is controlled by computer, lasting 10 seconds per 1 minute with 2 minutes interval.
(4)Characteristics:
*Uplifting feeling is expressed through strenuous shaking, speedy shift, and dynamic movement.
*When browbeating, the maximum stringency is performed by the stretching and wild move like holding the whole body back.
*Sharp movement rendering is realized by inweaving delicate movements like blinking and game-chasing eyes.
