About the Renewal of Dino Theatre (face-to-face screens)
In preparation for the 10 anniversary, Dinosaur Museum has been conducting the improvement of facilities with an aim to make the contents of the displays more attractive.
We would like to announce that this time, as part of the improvement, we will renew some of the devices in Dino Theatre (exhibition room 1F) in the museum as follows, in order to provide more vivid and spectacular images than before for visitors.
1. Contents of the Renewal
Dino Theatre has been popular with people of all ages, but more than 9 years have passed since it was launched and the devices have been getting older. So a high-vision player which upgrades reproduced sound and image, and DLP (*Digital Light Processing) –method projector, which burns no image on the screen will be newly installed.
And the existing multi-type screen with 16 fifty-inch display monitors on one side will be replaced by a new one with 9 sixty-seven-inch monitors, so that the joints between monitors will be less outstanding. (The total size of the multi-type screen, 200 inches, is the same as now.)
*DLP (Digital Light Processing) is a registered brand of Texas Instrument in the U.S., a video system using Digital Mirror Device (DMD).
2. Effect caused by renewal
Dino Theatre, displayed in the back of Kyoryu hall (exhibition room 1F), reproduces “the dinosaur world” in animation by computer graphics, which represents the scene of China’s Sichuan Province in Jurassic Period. The renewal will enable viewers to see more vivid and spectacular images.
3. When to start
February 13th (Sat) 2010, from 9:00 am
*From February 8th to 9th, only one of the two screens will be operated due to the renewal so pay attention to that. And during this time the devices being operated will be covered for security.
