A Memory of a Lifetime: I love Fukui!

One of the glorious times in my life was when I had a chance to stay in Fukui, Japan for one and half years. At first, I was really nervous being with new people and staying away from home, not to mention that I have to speak Japanese. Nevertheless, I felt so secure, and I was delighted to meet new Japanese friends, foreign students and great Japanese teachers. I consider Fukui and Japan in general as one of the safest and cleanest nations in the world. I will never forget all the memories I had in Fukui. I was happy that there were no dull moments for all the foreign students in Fukui. My professor Isa sensei was very approachable and caring. My Japanese teachers were absolutely perfect. Of course, Nakashima sensei made my stay so wonderful through festivals, trips, sports and visits. I wish I could go back again to Fukui in the near future. The Fukui Community is a very healthy community. There is always good cooperation between the government and the people. I will never forget the Sakura flowers along the Asuwa River.
Now, I’m back teaching in Cugman National High School located in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines. I have shared a lot about Fukui to my students during our recreation moments. I brought my laptop and showed them the thousands of pictures I took during my stay and they all loved it. It serves as an inspiration for them to continue their studies and be able to visit Japan in the future. Thank you so much Fukui and you will always be in my heart.
